Mehndi Aura Bridal and celebration mehndi

Help & FAQ

I have answered these the way I would explain them in a message: honestly, simply, and without pretending every booking is exactly the same.

Before Booking

How do I book Mehndi Aura for my date?

Send me your date, event type, location and the kind of design you are thinking of. You can use the form, WhatsApp, phone or email. I will check my availability and reply with the next steps.

What details should I send before asking for a quote?

The most useful details are your date, area, how many people need mehndi, how detailed you want the design to be, and any inspiration photos. Even a screenshot folder is helpful because it shows me your taste quickly.

How far in advance should I book?

For bridal or group bookings, earlier is always better. For smaller Eid, party or simple designs, I may be able to fit you in closer to the date if I have space.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

For some bookings, yes, especially bridal or longer appointments. If a deposit is needed, I will explain the amount clearly before anything is confirmed.

What is the fastest way to contact Mehndi Aura?

WhatsApp is usually the quickest for a simple question. For a proper quote, the form is better because it keeps all your event details in one place.

Designs and Events

Do you offer bridal mehndi?

Yes. I can do bridal mehndi for weddings and pre-wedding events. The design can be planned around your outfit, coverage, timing and any personal details you want included.

Can I request a custom mehndi design?

Yes. I can work with floral, Arabic, mandala, minimal, festive, bridal or mixed ideas. Inspiration photos are helpful, but I will adjust the final design to suit your hands and timing.

Do you take Eid, party, and festival bookings?

Yes, as long as I am available. Eid, parties, sangeet nights, family functions and small groups are all welcome.

Can you do mehndi for a group of guests?

Yes. Please tell me how many guests there are, how much time we have, and whether people want simple or more detailed designs.

Can I send inspiration photos?

Yes, please do. I use them to understand your taste, but I will not copy another artist exactly or promise a design that does not suit the time available.

Safety and Aftercare

Do you use natural henna?

Yes. I work with natural henna-style paste and I do not offer “black henna”. Natural henna stains orange-brown to deep brown, not instant black. If you have sensitive skin, eczema, allergies, G6PD deficiency, are pregnant, or are booking for a child, please tell me before booking so we can be sensible.

Why do you avoid black henna?

Black henna is often darkened with PPD, a dye linked with allergic reactions and skin injury. The NHS notes that people who have had a black henna tattoo may be more at risk of reacting to PPD later, and the British Skin Foundation warns that black henna can cause blistering, burns and scarring. I do not use it.

Can henna cause an allergic reaction?

Any product on skin can irritate or trigger allergy in some people, even when the risk is low. The NHS explains that skin reactions can include itching, burning, soreness or blisters. If you have a reaction after any skin product, seek medical advice, and call emergency services for breathing difficulty or swelling of the lips, mouth, throat or tongue.

What areas do you cover?

I am based in the UK and you can send an enquiry from anywhere in the country. Whether I can travel depends on the date, distance and booking size.

Can you travel to my venue?

Sometimes, yes. Send me the city or venue first, then I can check if travel makes sense for that booking.

How long does bridal mehndi take?

It depends on the coverage and detail. A lighter bridal design will take less time than full hands and feet, so I will estimate properly once I know what you want.

How should I prepare before my appointment?

Please keep your skin clean and avoid lotion or oil before I start. Wear something comfortable and leave enough sitting time so the design does not feel rushed.

How do I get a darker mehndi stain?

Keep the paste on for as long as advised, avoid washing too soon, and keep the area warm if you can. Natural henna develops over time, so the colour you see straight after removing the paste is not the final stain.
